Early Life and Career
Steven Hill was born on February 24, 1922, in Seattle, Washington. He began his acting career in the 1940s and appeared in a variety of stage productions, including Broadway shows. "Law & Order"
In 1990, Hill joined the cast of the long-running crime drama "Law & Order". He played the role of District Attorney Adam Schiff, a character loosely based on Manhattan DA Robert Morgenthau. Hill's portrayal of Schiff was praised for its depth and nuance. He remained with the show for the first ten seasons, leaving in 2000.
Versatile Actor
Hill was a versatile actor who performed in a wide range of genres. In addition to his television roles, he also appeared in numerous films, including "The Untouchables" (1955), "Hud" (1963), and "Russian Roulette" (1975). He also worked as a voice actor, providing the voice of Wolverine in the animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997).
