Coco Gauff Beats Jessica Pegula to Reach Berlin Final
Gauff Wins in Straight Sets
Coco Gauff has reached the final of the 2024 ecotrans Ladies Open in Berlin after defeating Jessica Pegula in straight sets. The American teenager won 6-4, 6-4 in a match that lasted just over two hours. Gauff will now face either Ons Jabeur or Anett Kontaveit in the final on Sunday.
Gauff Dominant in First Set
Gauff was dominant in the first set, breaking Pegula's serve twice to take a 4-1 lead. Pegula fought back to 4-3, but Gauff held her nerve to close out the set 6-4. The second set was a closer affair, with both players holding their serve until 4-4. Gauff then broke Pegula's serve to take a 5-4 lead, and she served out the match to win 6-4.
Gauff Continues to Impress
Gauff's victory over Pegula is her second top-10 win of the season. She also defeated world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open in May. Gauff is now ranked No. 12 in the world, and she is one of the most promising young players on the WTA Tour.
