DGCA Amends Civil Aviation Regulations to Enhance Safety and Preparedness
CAR 147 Training Organization Approved
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved and accepted the application of a new CAR 147 Training Organization to provide aviation training.
Facilities for Safety Management
Under the Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Section-3 Series-M Part-IV, DGCA has issued guidelines to enhance safety management and preparedness. These guidelines mandate airports to provide specific facilities for effective handling of situations like fog and other weather-related challenges.
Fog Preparedness Manual Issued
In line with these guidelines, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued a fog preparedness manual to ensure that airports are equipped to manage fog effectively and maintain the safety of aircraft operations.
Increased Safety Measures
The DGCA has also issued CAR Section 3 Series M part IV, titled "Facilities to be provided to..." This document outlines the facilities that must be provided by airports to enhance safety and preparedness. These measures include the provision of adequate runway lighting, fog detection systems, and communication equipment.
